For five decades, plans to build an expressway on Route 7 from Norwalk to Danbury — a project known as “Super 7” — have been stalled.
A new survey conducted by the University of Connecticut–Stamford shows that, despite claims to the contrary, support for the construction of Super 7 remains very strong among residents of the 10 towns that would be most directly affected by its construction. In fact, there is a nine-to-one ratio of support to opposition in towns where Super 7 is proposed and an eight-to-one ratio of support in surrounding communities.
