Investing In & Growing Connecticut's Talent

Helping Your Neighbors This Thanksgiving

Thursday is Thanksgiving Day. But not everyone can afford to enjoy a meal with friends and family during the holidays, or any day. In Connecticut, it is estimated that about one in eight households--12 percent of our population--are 'food insecure,' meaning they have a reduced quality, variety, or desirability of food in their diet. Children are affected, too.

Foodshare is hoping to bring a holiday meal to thousands of Greater Hartford homes through its annual "Turkey and Thirty" fundraiser. Your gift of a turkey (or several turkeys!) will help our neighbors in need celebrate this Thanksgiving. A financial gift will support our efforts to fight hunger throughout the year.

Their goal is to collect 15,621 turkeys and $468,630. You can make a donation THIS WEEKEND in West Hartford!
