Supporting Our Veterans

I recently had the pleasure of eating lunch with and then presenting a state citation to Gerry Wright of Andover, in honor of Gerry’s work seeking federal disability compensation for Vietnam veterans suffering from Agent Orange-related illnesses.

Gerry is a U.S. Army veteran who worked with Senator Richard Blumenthal and Congressman Joe Courtney to introduce the Agent Orange Exposure Fairness Act in Congress in order to help veterans receive disability benefits to address the serious, ongoing health impacts of exposure to Agent Orange.

You might remember that Agent Orange was an herbicide and defoliant chemical widely used by the U.S. military during the Vietnam War.

Gerry recently travelled 10,000 miles on his motorcycle to spread the word about his federal bill and the need for this legislation. Thank you Gerry for all you are doing for our veterans!
