STATE SENATOR

Will Haskell

Building Connecticut's Future

How I'll Vote

On Wednesday, I was sworn in as your new State Senator for the 26th District. I'm honored to advocate for the values of our community, and I'm grateful for the trust that you have placed in me. As I told my new colleagues, I believe that government is a place to come together. No matter who you voted for, I hope to bring your voice to Hartford. Most importantly, I promise to work every day toward building a better future for Connecticut.

Senator Haskell

I'm reaching out today because I believe government functions best when citizens are informed and engaged. Periodically, I'll sent out updates about my work in the Senate and let you know how legislation may affect our district. If you would like to unsubscribe from this list, please use the link at the bottom of this email.

In the upcoming session, I have the privilege of serving as Chair of the Higher Education and Employment Advancement Committee and Vice Chair of the Government Administration and Elections Committee. I'll also serve as a voting member of the Transportation, Judiciary, Environment and Human Services Committees. As the session gets started, I want you to know where I stand on some important issues. In short, here's how I'll vote:

  • I'll support common-sense gun safety laws like banning unregistered and unserialized ghost guns.
  • I'll propose a student loan forgiveness program that incentivizes Connecticut's recent college graduates to stay here..
  • I'll advocate for investments in Metro-North riders to increase economic development and boost home values.
  • I'll propose legislation to combat excessive distribution and abuse of prescription drugs.
  • I'll encourage efforts to diversify the Connecticut health insurance exchange to enhance competition, reduce premiums and improve the quality of coverage.
  • I'll introduce a portfolio of initiatives to make it easier for people to vote.

I hope you'll reach out in the days and months ahead to let me know how you believe we can move Connecticut forward.
