Join Me in East Hartford

The 2018 legislative session was very successful and we were able to pass many important pieces of legislation. New laws include a ban on bump stocks, a requirement that schools teach students about the Holocaust, and codified protection of the "10 Essential Health Benefits" for women and adolescents in our state.

Most importantly, we passed a bipartisan budget that has no tax increases, fully funds our towns and the Medicare Savings Program, and allows our Special Transportation Fund to continue funding projects. The budget also puts our "Rainy Day" fund reserve at its highest level in over a decade.

Please join me and my colleagues from East Hartford to further discuss the 2018 session. We welcome your feedback, and will happily answer your questions. We will be meeting at the East Hartford Public Library on Tuesday, June 12th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

See you there!

Major Jobs Anouncement from UTC

I am excited by news that United Technologies Corporation (UTC) has announced plans to hire 35,000 new workers nationally and create 2,000 new jobs in Connecticut. UTC's Connecticut workforce has grown to more than 18,000 employees and the company generates $2 billion in economic activity with 3,000 subcontractors and suppliers across the state. This announcement speaks volumes about the great workforce available in our state, and I’m proud to represent the 3rd Senate District, which is home to UTC and many of its subcontractors.
