Attention Veterans: This is for You!

On Friday, September 21, beginning at 8 a.m. and running through 2 p.m., the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs will host its annual “Connecticut Veterans Stand Down” event at its Rocky Hill campus, 287 West Street (Route 411) in Rocky Hill.

Typically, more than 100 different agencies and organizations and over 200 volunteers will be on hand at Stand Down to assist more than 1,000 veterans with medical screenings, eye and hearing exams, and many other support services such as housing, employment, education and legal assistance. All of this is free.

No registration is required, and free bus transportation is available courtesy of the Connecticut DOT. Attendees are encouraged to arrive no later than Noon if you want to take advantage of any of the services offered.

For more information, you can call 860-616-3803, or you can go to www.portal.ct.gov/DVA and click on “Stand Down 2018.”

I hope to see you there!
