Crumbling Foundations Website Launched

For the past three years, I have worked with my colleagues from across the aisle to help lead passage of critical legislation to assist homeowners who have crumbling foundations due to pyrrhotite. Collectively, Public Acts 16-45, 17-2, 18-160, and 18-179 included a testing program, increased documentation, and the creation of a captive insurance company to facilitate grants and other financial assistance.

Homeowners can now visit the newly launched website for the captive insurance company that will provide financial assistance to affected homeowners. The Connecticut Foundation Solutions Indemnity Company, Inc. (CFSIC) website is: www.crumblingfoundations.org.

If you own a house with a crumbling foundation or one that has been repaired, you may be eligible to file a claim with the CFSIC for repair costs on your home. Eligibility requirements and other information will be provided on the website, which is now live for your review and subject to a 30-day comment period.

The site will be fully operational on November 15, with all parts of the website and its complete claim adjustment process in place. You will be able to reach ESIS-ProClaim, CFSIC’s claim adjuster, at cfsic@esis.com or toll-free by phone at 844-763-1207.

Until then you can explore the website for Frequently Asked Questions, Useful Links, Application Help, and more. Or, you can reach CFSIC now by emailing: info@crumblingfoundations.org
