Today is National HIV Testing Day

In recognition of National HIV Testing Day Planned Parenthood of Southern New England will be offering free rapid HIV tests Tuesday, June 27, at select health centers in Connecticut.

Local residents can get tested right here in Bridgeport's Planned Parenthood, 211 State Street. Please encourage those who have not been tested to take advantage of this free program to keep our community safe and healthy.

Rapid HIV tests are quick and simple and can provide results in as fast as 20 minutes.

HIV information.

National HIV Testing Day is a reminder that getting tested for HIV is an important step in stopping the spread of HIV and taking care of your health. In the United States, more than 1 million people are living with HIV. Almost one in seven do not know it. In Connecticut, there are more than 10,000 people living with HIV.

Everyone who gets tested will receive a free information bag that includes giveaways, educational brochures and safe sex supplies.
