Export Funding Available For Connecticut Small Businesses

The State of Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) is inviting companies to apply for grants of up to $7,000 for a wide range of export-related activities designed to increase state exports and the number of small businesses that export.

The federal Small Business Administration created the grant program under the Obama administration to provide grants to state export offices. States like Connecticut must then apply each year for the federal funding.

The DECD administers the program, and it directs federal funds to companies that participate in eligible export activities such as trade shows, trade missions, marketing and internationalization projects, and export training.

Since its inception, Connecticut has awarded $1.5 million in grants to 350 companies.
