Affordable Solar for Connecticut Homeowners

Often times when people hear "solar energy" they think "I can't afford that." But it's important that as we continue to talk about renewable energy in our state, we also look at some ways residents in New Haven and West Haven can take advantage of solar-home programs, regardless of income.

So I set out this week to meet with John Esposito, a New Haven homeowner, who recently upgraded his home on Saltonstall Avenue with a solar panel installation through the Solar for All program, which is a public-private partnership between the Connecticut Green Bank and PosiGen.

The rooftop solar panel array on John's home was installed by PosiGen and financed through the CT Green Bank, which is focused on increasing access to renewable energy for low-to-moderate income households.

PosiGen solar and energy efficiency improvements are available to all homeowners, regardless of income or credit history.
