Free Career Advancement Opportunity for Seniors

The Connecticut Masters' Games and AARP CT are providing a free seminar in New Britain about helping workers over age 50 achieve their employment goals by connecting people to trusted resources, information and peer networks. This 1 1/2-hour seminar focuses on the nuts and bolts of job searching in the digital age, showcases the power of developing a personal brand, and helps you learn to network with ease.

If you are age 50 or over and looking for a job or seeking to change careers, you know how difficult it can be to find fulfilling work. The average duration of unemployment for a jobseeker over the age of 55 is about 50 weeks, compared with 34 weeks for younger jobseekers. The tips and tools provided by Nora Duncan and Jean Baur in this seminar can help invigorate your job search. Come prepared to meet new people network with other attendees.

The seminar will be held the Lecture Hall in New Britain High School, located on 110 Mill Street. It will take place at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 20th.
