Free Personal Finance Workshop in Bridgeport

Saving Money and Dealing with Debt

Local families and individuals who want to improve their personal finances can attend a free workshop in Bridgeport that focuses on the importance of saving money, strategies to reaching career and financial goals, and how to manage credit and reduce debt.

Connecticut Saves

The workshops take place on Tuesday, February 28, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Bridgeport American Job Center, 2 Lafayette Square. Register online at or call 203-455-2700.

UConn Extension and the Connecticut Department of Banking will present the workshop with the goal of improving economic security and employment opportunities for local residents.

The interactive workshop is designed to help you focus on your important financial goals and how to better understand your credit report.

This is all in collaboration with "Connecticut Saves" week, which runs from February 27 to March 4. As part of the campaign, you will be asked to take the Connecticut Saves Pledge online.

The "Connecticut Saves" campaign is a statewide initiative to encourage Connecticut residents to take positive financial actions and save regularly to turn their dreams into reality.

Free events are being held at several Connecticut American Job Centers across the state, including workshops in Hamden, Waterbury, and Hartford. Visit for more information.
