I Want To Hear From You: Upcoming Listening Tour
On Feb. 8, Gov. Dannel Malloy unveiled his $40 billion, two-year proposed budget. By now you've probably heard a lot of opinions of the pros and cons of the governor's proposed plan.
But this is just the beginning of the state's biennial budget-making process, and I want to hear from you! That's why I've decided to hold three budget-listening tours:
Thursday, March 9, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Burroughs Community Center 2470 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport
Tuesday, March 21, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Trumbull Town Hall, Council Chamber Room 5866 Main Street, Trumbull
Tuesday, March 28, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Monroe Town Hall 7 Fan Hill Road, Monroe
The work of making a state budget is a long process, and proposed budgets at the start are never the budget that is passed at the end of session in June.
I encourage you to join me at one of my listening events and tell me your concerns and ideas. If you cannot attend you can always contact my office at 860-240-0425 or online at www.senatedems.ct.gov/moore. I'll be sharing your comments with my colleagues at the State Capitol before we vote on a final budget later this year.
