A Legislative Update

The regular legislative session adjourns June 7, which means we only have a one more week to pass important legislation.

So far this year in the Connecticut Senate, we’ve been able to pass some great bills, including:

House Bill 6695: Protects LGBTQ youth in CT from the discredited practice of conversion therapy.

Senate Bill 894: Strengthens the state’s ability to protect and provide for its children by creating a State Oversight Council on Children and Families.

Senate Bill 126: Gives community health workers the recognition they deserve by establishing in statute a definition for CHW and their roles and responsibilities.

House Bill 7254: Ensures special education teachers are trained to identify and address dyslexia.

We're almost winding down at the State Capitol, but my work is far from over. Please continue to reach out to me with your concerns and ideas, and visit my website or Facebook page for updates.
