Stuff-A-Truck to Help Hungry Families

Bridgeport Rescue Mission vehicles will be stationed at local Stop & Shop supermarkets on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to collect donations of nonperishable food items at the organization's annual Stuff-A-Truck event to help feed hungry families and individuals.

You can bring bags of the items listed below to your nearest Stop & Shop store, or buy them there as you purchase your own groceries.


Food items needed most are : canned tuna in water, chicken noodle soup, canned vegetables, jelly/jam in plastic, peanut butter (creamy), macaroni and cheese, canned fruit, cold cereal, ramen, pasta, and pasta sauce in cans.

Participating stores include:

Trumbull store at 100 Quality St.
Stratford store at 200 E. Main St.
Monroe store at 470 Monroe Turnpike
Bridgeport store at 4531 Main St.

Westport store at 1790 Post Road E.
Norwalk stores at 380 Main Ave. and 385 Connecticut Ave.
Fairfield stores at 1160 Kings Highway Cutoff and 760 Villa Ave.
Stamford stores at 2200 Bedford St. and 1937 W. Main St.
