A long time member of the Judiciary Committee, Senator Eric Coleman (D-Bloomfield) strongly supported the nomination of Eric Crawford of Hartford to serve as a member of the new Board of Pardons and Parole. The Senate voted unanimously on the resolution to confirm the nomination.
The new board, Crawford will serve on was created by the legislature as part major effort to address a number of areas in the criminal justice system by creating a more professional and full-time Board of Pardons and Parole.
Crawford has been a program manager for Community Partners in Action, a district intervention specialist for the Hartford Board of Education, and as a drug intervention specialist for the Capital Regional Education Council.
"Eric Crawford is a resident of the 2nd Senatorial District and I'm very enthused by his nomination for this very important position," said Senator Coleman. "His background and experience have provided him with the kinds of insight and skill sets that are easily transferable to the responsibilities that he'll face as a member of the Board of Pardons and Parole."
