State Senate President Pro Tempore Donald E. Williams, Jr. (D-Brooklyn) announced today he is nominating Guy Ortoleva of Hamden to the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism. His term is effective immediately.
"Guy Ortoleva has the right skills and experience to be a key contributor this important commission," Sen. Williams said. "States are competing harder than ever for their share of these industries. Guy will certainly help Connecticut greatly in that regard."
And entertainment and copyright attorney, Ortoleva is a former executive director of the Connecticut Film Office as well as an established television producer and director of both popular TV shows and documentaries. His television credits include American Detective, NBC News, American Journal and Front Page.
The Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism is charged with promoting Connecticut as a destination for leisure and business travelers; promoting the arts; recognizing and protecting historic resources; and presenting Connecticut's history and culture. It is also responsible for promoting the state as a location for business related to the film and video industries.
