Looney to Have U.S. Representative Rosa DeLauro as Television Guest
New Haven, West Haven, Hamden Comcast viewers to see popular congresswoman
State Senate Majority Leader Martin M. Looney (D-New Haven) announced today that U.S. Representative Rosa DeLauro will be his guest on his popular public access cable show "Policy and Perspective." The show airs on Comcast Cable channel 23 in New Haven, Hamden and West Haven Tuesdays at 6:00 PM, Fridays at 8:00 PM and Sundays at 10:00 PM.
Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro was first elected to Congress from Connecticut's Third District in 1990. She sits on the House Appropriations Committee and serves on the Labor-Health and Human Services-Education and Agriculture Subcommittees. She also serves on the House Budget Committee. In 1999, she was elected Assistant to the Democratic Leader by her colleagues, making her the second highest ranking Democratic woman in the House of Representatives. She was re-elected to this position in 2000. In 2002, she was appointed co-chair of the House Democratic Steering Committee.
"I am pleased Congresswoman DeLauro has agreed to take time from her busy schedule to appear on the 'Policy and Perspective' program," Sen. Looney said.
