Senate President Donald Williams, Jr. (D-Brooklyn) will attend a series of senior fairs in the next two weeks aimed at helping seniors and veterans access critical information on issues such as energy and health care costs.
“It can be very difficult for citizens, especially seniors, to find the information and services they need,” said Senator Williams. “These fairs are an opportunity for seniors to do some one-stop shopping, and it couldn’t come at a better time: with energy costs soaring, many seniors are already worrying about the winter months and looking for any help or advice that’s available.”
Senator Williams will be joined by Senators Edith Prague (Norwich Senior Fair), Tom Colapietro (Bristol Senior Fair), and Edward Meyer (12th District Seniors and Veterans Expo). Representatives from local utilities, the CT Clean Energy Fund, Department of Public Utility Control, and Citizen’s Oil Co-op will also be in attendance, helping seniors:
Numerous service providers will also offer health care screenings and counseling on federal and state veterans’ benefits. The events are free to open to the public.
