Hartford: Senate President Donald E. Williams, Jr. (D-Brooklyn) says four towns in the 29th Senate District are receiving grants from the Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP).
The financial assistance is available through the state’s Small Town Economic Assistance Program (STEAP); in 2009 Governor Rell signed into law the $20 million grant program for Fiscal Year 2011.
“Without this funding, local residents might be forced to pick up the tab,” said Senator Williams. “I’m pleased we’re able to ease that burden, while at the same time help the local economy and improve the quality of life in these towns.”
The projects include:
“It is critical that Connecticut’s small towns aren’t forgotten; that’s why I’ve supported this initiative and will continue to do so,” said Senator Williams.
