Statement on Jackson Labs Bill

Joint statement by Senate President Donald E. Williams, Jr.; Senate Majority Leader Martin Looney; Commerce Committee Co-Chairman Sen. Gary D. LeBeau; Higher Education and Workforce Development Co-Chairman Sen. Beth Bye; and Public Health Committee Co-Chairman Sen. Terry Gerratana

“After concluding informational hearings on both the Jackson Labs research and development proposal and our bipartisan package of pro-jobs legislation, we stand ready to move these vital and far-reaching initiatives forward when we meet in special session this Wednesday, October 26.

“In these difficult times, Connecticut has an extraordinary opportunity to invest in the technologies and jobs of the future, as well as the innovative small business and manufacturing jobs that have kept Connecticut’s economy afloat for decades. Investing in the future of Connecticut’s hard- working families and entrepreneurs is essential to the growth of our economy.

“We invite our Republican colleagues to join us next Wednesday in a vote for new jobs, new business growth, and the start of a new chapter in Connecticut’s economic history.”
