State Senators Carlo Leone (D-27) and L. Scott Frantz (R-36) welcomed fourth grade students from Rogers International School of Stamford to the State Capitol on Wednesday, May 9th.
“It's always a pleasure to welcome young people to the state Capitol, and it was great to have the students from the Rogers School come to visit,” said Senator Leone. “I hope they came away with some insight into the way our democracy works, and an interest in being active, involved citizens.”
Senators Leone and Frantz joined the students during a tour of the Capitol and Legislative Office Building.
“I was pleased to meet with students from Rogers International School on the last day of session,” said Senator Frantz. “These students had an excellent opportunity to witness the flurry of activity surrounding our Capitol, and I am hopeful that they returned home with a deeper understanding of public service.”
Rogers International School is an interdistrict magnet school (Kindergarten through Grade 8) that provides an International Baccalaureate program. For more information, please visit their website at www.rogersinternationalschool.org.
