“I am pleased that the Office of Fiscal Analysis (OFA) and the Office of Policy and Management (OPM) have agreed on revenue estimates for the biennial budget, and as a result — the size of the budget deficit.
“This happened as a direct result of the consensus revenue forecasting bill that the legislature re-passed earlier this week. It is unfortunate that this is happening at the end of July when it should have happened in February. We went through the entire legislative session without agreement on the fundamental issue of the size of the deficit.
“We knew that the governor’s estimate in February was more than $2 billion short and now everyone knows it. Now that the governor will finally be submitting a plan to address the real budget deficit, it is my hope that we reach a final agreement as quickly as possible.”
