Senator Williams: “Disarray and confusion running rampant in Rell administration”
“This veto threat is the latest example of the disarray and confusion that is currently running rampant in the Rell administration. One hand doesn’t know what the other is doing.”
“Very early this morning Gov. Rell’s budget chief made it clear to legislative leaders that the governor was open to maintaining her support for fee increases. It appeared the governor was ready to take responsibility for the budget she helped craft — and the spending she added back for her own offices and staff. Negotiations were to continue but all sides were committed to working together. Gov. Rell’s actions today show that she either didn’t know or ignored what her budget chief had proposed.”
“The reality is that this is a budget that the governor negotiated and agreed to. It is time to put aside partisan bickering, finalize the details, and help stabilize Connecticut's economy.”
