State Senator Eric Coleman

Recognizing that the answer to city violence is about more than police and law enforcement, North Hartford lawmakers, Senator Eric Coleman, Representatives Kenneth Green and Douglas McCrory announced a plan to address violence in the city beyond incarceration and politics. The legislators joined with community leaders, residents and youth to request a cease-fire among battling neighborhood groups. The proposal to address the violence includes, a unification of community organizations, Safe Zone locations, crisis service access, and outcome-driven employment training programs. (June 5, 2006)
