Senator James Maroney Welcomes More Than $1.2 Million In Support For Milford’s Charles F. Hayden High School Expansion
State Senator James Maroney (D-Milford) today welcomed this week’s announcement that more than $1.2 million in state grants will be released to the nonprofit Boys & Girls Village in Milford. The funds, released through the state’s Nonprofit Grant Program, will be used to support the expansion of Milford’s Charles F. Hayden High School, a therapeutic day school providing special education and clinical services for children with disabilities.
“This school plays a valuable role in our community providing a welcoming and secure environment for students and I’m so glad to hear it will receive this grant to support its expansion,” said Sen. Maroney. “Every child deserves an education primed to support them and provide the tools they need for success. With this expansion, the school will be better primed for that purpose. I’m grateful to Governor Lamont for his support of this vital project.”
“Connecticut’s nonprofit providers support residents in every town and are a vital part of our social services safety net,” Governor Ned Lamont said. “Providing funding to make strategic investments helps these organizations deliver the services some of our most vulnerable residents depend upon. This grant funding will help all of the residents that these organizations support be able to utilize their personal strengths, talents, and passions.”
Boys & Girls Village will receive $1,220,582 to support the school’s expansion. Previously, it received a grant of more than $2 million in 2017 for a previous expansion. |
