Today, State Senator Saud Anwar (D-South Windsor) announced that the Department of Transportation will conduct guiderail upgrades along Route 2 and Exit 2 to I-84 Eastbound during weekdays this week, with planned work continuing until Friday.
The DOT project will see guiderails being upgraded over a fifth-of-a-mile span of Route 2 Eastbound, from the Darlin Street Overpass to the Pitkin Street Overpass and the “gore area,” or area between the highway lanes and exit ramp, on the east end of the Founders Bridge.
The work is slated to begin Monday, February 3 and continue through Friday, February 7, though delays could extend the project.
Motorists should expect closures on the shoulder on Route 2 eastbound and left shoulder closures on Exit 2 eastbound in East Hartford from the Founders Bridge to the Pitkin Street Overpass from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during the week.
