Sen. Cabrera Applauds $300,000 in Bond Funding for Derby Middle School

HARTFORD, CT – Today, state Senator Jorge Cabrera (D-Hamden) applauded the state’s Bond Commission for approving $300,000 in funding for Derby Middle School. The $300,000 will go to address various improvements, alterations and repairs to promote the health, safety, and learning of the students.

“I’m grateful to the Bond Commission for approving funding for Derby Middle School on their agenda,” said Sen. Cabrera. “These funds will go a long way to making the in-school environment even better and will help to bolster each students’ confidence when they witness the improvements being made to their school.”

Governor Ned Lamont said this funding provides timely improvements to the middle school that will benefit the entire school community.

“This state funding will help Derby Middle School make the necessary upgrades to its infrastructure that are necessary for the school to continue its mission of providing a quality education to its students, and I am glad we could partner with the city to get this released,” Governor Lamont said.
