Senate President Pro Tempore Martin M. Looney (D-New Haven) and Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff (D-Norwalk) today were unanimously re-elected by members of the Senate Democratic Caucus to lead them in the 2017/2018 legislative sessions.
The Democrats made their choices at a caucus in Hartford this afternoon.
Senators Eric Coleman (D-Bloomfield), Cathy Osten (D-Sprague), Tim Larson (D-East Hartford) and Senator Duff made nominating and seconding speeches.
“I am once again honored and humbled by the faith and support of the Senate Democratic Caucus,” said Senator Looney. “The Senate Democrats will continue to pursue an aggressive agenda to ensure that all children have access to a high-quality education, to grow jobs, strengthen our economy and help hard working families get ahead. I look forward to working with my Democratic colleagues and Republicans of good will to address our challenges and move Connecticut forward.”
“I am honored to once again have been selected by my colleagues to help lead the caucus,” said Senator Duff. “I look forward to working with Senator Looney and the Republicans to move this state forward over the long-term to grow jobs, support innovation and protect middle class families.”
